In fact, we got into the business because we wanted to help people balance their goals of creating healthy homes that reflect the beauty of Southern Maine’s landscape with their yearning to care for the environment that inspires us. All of the products we sell meet or exceed an extensive range of criteria to be considered eco-friendly. In addition to that, everything we sell performs as well as or better than their conventional counterparts. More and more the term “green” reflects attributes that extend beyond eco-friendy. Today, a truly green item is positive towards human health and the product of fair labor practices. We choose only products and materials that are beautiful and timeless. We want our customers to be happy with their home finishes for years to come. Though we primarily sell products for interiors, our experience with sustainable construction techniques is extensive. Our passion for sustainable design began with the construction of one of the most efficient homes in the Adirondacks of New York five years ago. Since then, founder Christopher Ring has worked on many other homes. As well, he studied building performance and modeling in Austria under the tutelage of one of Europe’s leading HVAC engineers.  We host workshops and seminars, in addition to stocking literature on sustainable design; but if you just want to come in and chat about the built world, we’re happy to do that to—it’s our passion.
