Mr. Slim – The Ductless Air Source Heat Pump from Mitsubishi
An air source heat pump (ASHP) is a heating and cooling system that uses outside air as its heat source and heat sink. Under the principles of vapor compression refrigeration an ASHP uses a refrigerant system involving a compressor and a condenser to absorb heat at one place and release it at another. In fact, air source heat pumps are so efficient that they can extract heat (energy) from cold winter air and convert it to warmth inside your home. During summers, an ASHP does the exact opposite, converting the energy from the hot air to create cool air. ASHP's are usually wall mounted above head height, so they don’t interrupt your floor plan such as baseboards and wall mounted radiators.
Mitsubishi's Mr. Slim is the most efficient, reliable and durable ASHP on the market today. It’s so efficient, that the Mr. Slim ASHP makes electric a cost competitive means of heating while fossil fuel prices continue to rise. When properly installed, an air-source heat pump can deliver one-and-a-half to three times more heat energy to a home than the electrical energy it consumes. And with the cost of Solar PV declining rapidly, ASHP's are ready for solar powering. Mr. Slim is also extraordinarily quite. Here in the store we have a unit mounted, including the compressor that should be outside. Often we have to put our ears to the unit just to hear it.
Venmar Air To Air Exchange
Today’s well insulated homes often lack the ability to breathe freely, trapping stale air and excess humidity contributing to mold build-up, unpleasant odors, condensation on windows and even structural damage to your home.
